Arnold’s Candies History

Since 1953, Arnold's Candies has been manufacturing their world's best candies by hand in Akron, Ohio. Arnold’s Candies takes a lot of pride in remaining a part of the Akron community in its original building where the quaint retail shop is still open to stop in for fresh sweet treats. In 2011, Ted Arnold passed on the business to the Greg Dauphin, who learned from Ted Arnold himself the tricks to the perfect crispy thin brittle. Greg grew the business from the small retail and fundraising business it once was into a wholesale manufacturing facility with a specialty in high-quality sugar candies and brittle.

In June 2018, Greg added to his team by hiring Rachel Wood who expanded the online and retail business within Arnold’s Candies. After 5 years of mentorship from Greg, Rachel and her husband, Griffin, decided to take on the Arnold’s Candies legacy. In 2023, Rachel and Griffin became the new owners of Arnold’s Candies, continuing the 70 year tradition of remaining a family-owned company.

The Arnold’s Candies staff can offer years of knowledge and experience in the research and development of confectionary products. Arnold’s Candies has the capability to work with companies requiring unique research and development projects in confection and bakery production. This gives the opportunity to service small customers, as well as large distributors and grocers through out the United States.

While keeping with their humble beginnings, Arnold’s Candies is growing into a successful manufacturing business with a specialty in products rarely seen made by hand in the United States today. Arnold's Candies uses the very best ingredients combined with old-fashioned techniques to manufacture the finest quality candy all day, every day. Customers can still stop by the local retail shop at 931 High Grove Blvd. in Akron to grab some of the classic candies or try out some new, limited-edition flavors that you won’t find anywhere else!
